Traveling through translation

My love of traveling took its roots in 2011, when I landed in the United States for the first time, bright eyed and full of big dreams. This love has grown and grown, with each new country I have set foot in.

I naturally turned to tourism content when I started as a freelance translator. My first client was GetYourGuide, a fun website on which you can book activities and tours around the world. I spent several months translating over a hundred posts. Whether you want to visit rice terraces in Bali, go whale watching in Palma de Mallorca, go on a night tour of Rome or see some French Cancan at the Moulin Rouge, GetYourGuide is your friend. Translating for this website felt like traveling around the world. This never felt boring and I saw my list of “Places to visit” grow with evert week spent working with them. I am very thankful for the work of their French Language Specialist and his kindness.

Ever since the beginning of our collaboration, Charlotte has displayed outstanding translation and communication skills. Constantly striving for excellence, Charlotte is efficient, flexible, and highly reliable. Definitely, an asset to our freelance team.

A few months ago, I had the great opportunity of working on the translation of the official website of the Japan National Tourism Organization with other freelancers thanks to TranslateMedia (translation agency). I was genuinely inspired by this project and happy to express my love for Japan. This was as interesting as frustating to me because this only served to remind me of my dream to one day discover this beautiful country.

Besides, still in collaboration with TranslateMedia, I have worked on various projects for European airlines.

MY DREAM IS TO ONE DAY TRANSLATE A WHOLE TRAVEL GUIDE/book.
